Everything old is new again. Blimps, or as they’re know now Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV), are set to make a comeback, if Bedford based blimp maker Airlander has there way.
In this weeks regular on air chat Hong Kong Radio 3’s Phil Whelan and I chat about the possibility of slow travel options, can we forget the Hindenburg disaster and whether the allure of low carbon footprints (53 kg per person in a plane vs 4.5 kg in a blimp) is enough of an enticement to get us on board.
As always we steered off course and chatted about lots of other things including the Victorian lockdown, whether old ideas stand the test of time and more.
